Newlyn Boats Bays Photography Walk Workshop

Newlyn Boats Bays Photography Walk Workshop

Sunday 30 March
Newlyn, Penzance - 11:30am - 3 Hours
Cornwall Photography Group
Caleb Williams
This three hour workshop is centred on the old fishing village of Newlyn, with its docks, piers and still working fishing fleet. Newlyn's special light is one of the reasons it became home to an important art colony many years back. We will explore the granite lanes of this seafaring community as well as boats at rest on the water, with their reflections, patina and rust. The busy harbour area full of piled fish crates, ropes and buoys offers many photographic subjects. You will experiment with composition, leading lines and the rule of thirds and be encouraged to think about complementary colours and abstract details. Camera settings for different types of light and subject matter will be provided. This workshop is for lovers of photography as well as all those who also enjoy walking and conversation by the sea"

Spring: Colour, Texture, Light!

Spring: Colour, Texture, Light!

Sunday 04 May
Truro - 11am - 3 Hours
Cornwall Photography Group
Caleb Williams
This session will encourage you to get up close and personal with nature. Workshop participants will be shown how to frame their images to maximise detail, pattern and colour. Our setting will be in a park, which is bursting with colourful floral subjects at this time of year. We will learn about being 'intentional' in our photography - looking deeply - as opposed to just snapping. New and intermediate photographers will gain knowledge of how aperture and focal length can be used in combination to create well-composed, vivid shots of nature. Making foreground elements stand out (while turning the background into soft, dreamy blur) will also be explained. If your creative self-expression embraces petals, buds, and blooms this session will be very much for you. Indulge your inner "horticulturist", and spend some time getting to know the manual controls of your camera better in blossoming nature !

Title or Location: Lady in orange
In the world of art, few subjects capture the essence of grace and elegance quite like the dancer. This stunning portrait encapsulates the beauty of ballet, showcasing not just the physical prowess of the dancer but also the emotional depth that comes with the art form. The dancer, adorned in a flowing orange costume, seems to defy gravity, her limbs extended in a perfect display of strength and poise. The choice of color is particularly striking the warm tones of her outfit contrast beauti
