Learn how to master light and shadow while photographing dramatic coastal scenes around the beautiful beach village of Porthtowan, on the north coast of Cornwall. 'Contre jour', is a French phrase which means 'shooting into the light'. This workshop will help you capture rugged coastal scenes, silhouettes and reflections by the sea. Working in manual mode you will learn how to expose correctly for the most impactful results. Shooting 'into the light', creates memorable, artistic results. The resulting images can be enjoyed either in black & white or colour. Depending on tide and weather we will spend most of our time on the beach or exploring the cliffs above.

Title or Location: Gromit in heaven
Gromit was a ?foster fail? who helped many other foster dogs on their way to a new life. He demonstrated life could be kind and to try and trust again. His favorite play dates were at Union Reservoir, retrieving tennis balls in the water. The day before Memorial Day in 2018, he started fading fast, a rush to the emergency vet showed the cause, cancer on his heart. He died just after midnight, so it would be impossible for me to forget him. He was 4years old.

Title or Location: Buddies
Buddies is a watercolor done on textured watercolor board. The substrate gives the painting a "fuzziness" that softened the scene. It was a such a heart softening situation. A boy and his dog, the peacefulness of sleep, and a furbaby flashing his toe beans are irresistible.
