Learn how to master light and shadow while photographing dramatic coastal scenes around the beautiful beach village of Porthtowan, on the north coast of Cornwall. 'Contre jour', is a French phrase which means 'shooting into the light'. This workshop will help you capture rugged coastal scenes, silhouettes and reflections by the sea. Working in manual mode you will learn how to expose correctly for the most impactful results. Shooting 'into the light', creates memorable, artistic results. The resulting images can be enjoyed either in black & white or colour. Depending on tide and weather we will spend most of our time on the beach or exploring the cliffs above.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.

I am Tracey, a self-taught artist from Plymouth, UK, I have been developing my coloured pencil techniques for the past year . My aim is always to capture not only the likeness of an animal but also the personality and spirit that make them so special to the people who love them.In this piece, Colin is shown resting amongst a vibrant meadow of wildflowers, his striking green eyes drawing the viewer in. The detailed fur work, delicate whiskers, and colourful floral surroundings were all carefull

This painting was inspired by the journey we experience from pain to healing. The tears symbolize release, the bold colors represent the pain, while the vibrant colors reflect hope, renewal, and transformation. Through this piece, I wanted to express that even in our deepest struggles, healing is possible. It is a reminder that brokenness can be transformed into strength, beauty, and new life.
